The rain hits the window, the temperatures drop and the leaves change their color. Autumn is really here, time for walks in the woods, feel good food on our plate and discovering the best hotspots in Ostend. We would like to give you some tips so you can fully enjoy this blissful period.

Once you get a good breath of fresh air, nowhere better than on the Belgian coast. Want to get a breath of fresh air during a walk on the beach, or enjoy yourself to the fullest on your bike? In Ostend there is fun for everyone. On the dike of Ostend you can rent bikes as well as go-karts.

By the way, did you already know that Ostend has some new residents? The seal population off our coast is slowly but surely recovering. Nothing is more fun than spotting seals during the beach walk.

Important, always stay 20 meters away from the seals and keep the dog on a leash.

Maritime walk


Discover the maritime character of Ostend and stroll along the most remarkable spots of the fishing culture, the bustling port life and the unique navigational heritage. The walk takes you to different locations such as: Mercator, Museum Ship Amandine, Visserskaai and Vissersplein and the North Sea Aquarium.

Practical:
The walk is 7.7km long.

Fun with the kids

At the oktoberkermis there are many attractions on offer, for both young and old. The attractions are spread over 4 squares: the Arms Square, the Vegetable Market, the Mining Square and the St.Petrus- and Paulus Square

Mu.Sea

The art museum by the sea, or Mu.Zee for short, is leading for art over and on the Flemish coast and a real beanie-see during a city trip to Ostend. There is a special collection of paintings from 1830 to the present and it is as if you are walking along the history of the Flemish coast. The reopening of Mu.ZEE was accompanied by a new interpretation of Ensor and Spilliaert museum wing with a number of unique works by Leon Spilliaert that were never shown before. Weather or no weather: a visit to this museum is a must.
